On Tuesday I shared her story...the woman who couldn't be still, who had learned in childhood that stillness was laziness. This is what we gave her body to work with. Geranium. The oil of love and trust. One drop warmed between the palms, hands cupped gently over the nose, three slow breaths, each exhale releasing something that was never hers to carry this long. Geranium speaks directly to the heart, to the places where self doubt, disappointment and the ache of feeling alone have taken up quiet residence. It does not force anything open. Sound is one of the fastest ways I’ve found to calm the nervous system and shift energy in the body. Everything in us vibrates. So when we introduce sound, through bowls, tuning forks, voice or music, the body naturally begins to recalibrate itself back toward harmony. In sessions, I use sound to: ✨ settle an overactive nervous system ✨ support emotional release ✨ clear energetic congestion ✨ bring clients back into their bodies gently and safely. I also work very intentionally with music. Before each session, I set the intention and allow Spirit to guide the playlist. The time between Christmas and New Year is something I really honour. I intentionally clear my schedule… no clients, no classes… and give myself permission to slow right down. It’s a quiet, nourishing pause where I step out of doing and back into being. I let my nervous system settle. I rest, potter, spend time with my family, and allow moments of stillness without needing to fill them. I remind myself that it’s okay to do nothing… that rest is productive in its own way.
